CENTRAX LIMITED – GAS TURBINE DIVISION

Senior Mechanical Engineer
An experienced Mechanical Engineer is required to provide input and leadership for a number of different projects and engine types. The responsibilities will include:

• Gas Turbine generator package design including ancillary equipment
• Selection of major mechanical components including review of technical bids
• Management of day-to-day Syteline issues (Enterprise Resource Planning)
• Provision of original purchase and engineering specification documentation
• Implementation of technical policy from equipment suppliers
• Provision of documentation to support the ISO9001 QA System

We are looking for candidates with a good understanding of the engineering function and knowledge of industry codes and standards. Candidates should be degree qualified with several years experience working with rotating equipment. The position is Newton Abbot based but may require short term international travel for customer and supplier facing meetings.

Mechanical Engineer
A Mechanical Engineer is required to provide input into different projects and engine types. The responsibilities will include:

• Mechanical system design and specification with supporting design calculations
• Selection of mechanical system major components from approved suppliers
• Technical liaison with customers and suppliers
• Responding to suppliers queries
• Technical support to the Sales and Customer Support Departments
• Technical support for production  and test

The job holder will be an Engineering professional with a recognised HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of two years experience in a similar role. Gas turbine packaging experience would be an advantage. Must be IT literate and have CAD draughting skills. Good attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines is required. A second language would be advantageous and the ability to undertake short overseas visits.

Electrical Engineer
An Electrical Engineer is required to provide input into different projects and engine types. The responsibilities will include:

• Electrical system (MV LV and control) design with supporting design calculations.
• Working with CAD designer to produce electrical drawings
• Creation and maintenance of PLC and SCADA software
• Assessment and selection of components from approved suppliers
• Responding to supplier enquires
• Creation and maintenance of bills of material
• Creation and maintenance of functional design specifications
• Compliance with applicable Centrax, customer, national and international standards
• Technical support to the Sales, Projects, Production, Test and Customer Support Departments
• Technical assistance for commissioning of gas turbine generation and mechanical drive packages and associated electrical systems at customer sites
• Compilation of technical construction files to support CE marking
• Technical liaison with customers and suppliers.

The job holder will be an Engineering professional with a recognised HND or degree in Electrical Engineering. A successful track record in electrical design and site test, commissioning and fault finding on rotating machines and controls is required. A proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities is essential along with the ability to work under your own initiative to work as part of a multi disciplined team. A second language would be advantageous and the ability to undertake short overseas visits.

Maintenance Machine Tool Electrician:

We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Machine Tool Electrician to maintain the serviceability and accuracy all of factory plant, machine tools and equipment in Centrax Turbine Components Ltd..
Main duties include:

• Prompt response to machine breakdowns involving fault investigation and repair.
• Installation work in accordance with current IEE regulations.
• Implementation of maintenance work in compliance with the Maintenance PM system
• The test and repair of faulty circuit boards and the replacement of electronic components
• The manufacture of parts using workshop machinery
• The writing of basic programmes to test CNC machine systems.
• Other duties as defined in the job description.

We are looking for self motivated candidates with an appropriate time-served apprenticeship or BTEC Electrical or Electronic qualification as well as up to date knowledge of electrical regulations. You must be able to work effectively as a team member and liaise with internal staff, contractors and machinery suppliers. A peddi forks/boom lift driving qualification would also be useful.

Skilled Machinists:

Our Turbine Products Department are looking for skilled machinists to produce batch/production items to tight tolerances.

The main duties are:

• Set/operate machines and prove the programme on first production run.
• Edit/create the programme where required to ensure it conforms to the planning departments specifications.

You will need to have time served apprenticeship or a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar industry and with experience in Milling and Turning both CNC/Non CNC and Grinding.
